Beatles, Black Eyed Peas, Blue Rodeo, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins, Burton Cummings, Dire Straits, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mellencamp, Steve Miller, Santana, Bob Seger, Styx, Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top and many more.

North of 49’s country show spans every era of country music Bellamy Borthers, Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Johnny Cash, Billy Currington, Emerson Drive, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Eddie Rabbitt, Blake Shelton & many more.

The band has a wide array of songs because of the instrumentation. This 4 piece band sounds like a 6 piece band at times with multi keyboards, guitars, bass and drums. The band also has a great blend of 3 part harmony to top it all off.

NORTH OF 49 BIO

The North of 49 band was conceived at the end of 2004 by Dan McVeigh who felt a need to find another avenue to get his songs heard by a larger audience in bigger clubs and festivals throughout Canada. Dan called on several other fine musicians who are also songwriters to form a band that could not only write great songs but also entertain an audience with a highly energetic mix of today’s country music hits, classic rock gems and original music.

The band features Dan McVeigh on keyboards, acoustic guitar and lead & background vocals, Russell Edward Williams on guitars, lead & background vocals, Jarvis Mushka on bass guitar, background vocals, and Jim Bennett on drums.

North of 49 is comprised of veteran musicians who have been performing for many years. Dan McVeigh is the leader of the band, on keys and guitar, has many years experience playing both as a solo artist and in groups including Today’s Child, Classified and Platinum Plus. He has recorded two albums and recently went #1 on “The Country Edge” (Canada’s top internet country station) with his single “You Are All I Dream Of”. He has won several songwriting awards and was nominated at the Ontario Country Music Awards for future country star of the year. Guitarist/Soundman Russell Edward Williams has toured the world with artists Jane Siberry, The Reggae Cowboys, Chris deBurgh, Dutch Mason and many others. Jarvis Mushka has played bass all over the world and has played with Beverley Mahood, Susan Aglugark and many more. Jim Bennett is a veteran drummer who has played with several bands throughout his career including Exit that was among the winners of the Q107 Homegrown contest.

North of 49 has played at some of the top clubs in Ontario including Hugh's Room in Toronto and the Lil Big Horn in Cambridge. They are currently booking shows and have played festivals such as the Fergus Truck Show, Canada Day Festivals and the Milton Ribfest.. Don’t miss this exciting band coming to a town near you.
