Myra
Leblanc has released a new single to radio titled
"Two Blanket Night" written by Dan
McVeigh, Barbara Walton and Rich Howard. The song
tells the story of a soldier's spouses perspective
when their loved one is sent off to war. The song
is currently in medium rotation at CLJS in

Lana-Gail
of Dryden, Ontario has released her first CD
titled "Power To Choose". The CD
features 6 songs co-written by Dan McVeigh. She
held her CD release party at the Central Hotel
on December 7, 2004. What makes this CD unique
is that Lana-Gail is hearing impaired. The CD is
available through the Canadian Hearing Society's

The 2004 Ontario
Country Music Awards final ballot nominations were announced. Dan McVeigh
was one of 5 nominees for
2004 Future Star. Dan would like to thank all that
have voted him to the final list of nominees and
he's honoured to be among them. Dan was
featured performing with a full band showcase
fincluding Garth
Baker on guitar, Bernie German on bass, Jim Bennett
on drums and Mary German on backing vocals. The OCPFA Awards
weekend was held from Nov 26-28, 2004 at the Lil Big
Horn in Cambridge, On.

his recent roll with success with a 2nd place finish
against 7 other competitors in the Canadian Open
Country Singing Competiton (Songwriting Contest)in

The
OCPFA had a big showcase and fundraiser on Sunday,
April 13, 2003 at the L'il Big Horn in Cambridge,
On. The show was hosted by the Good Brothers and
features performances by 12 OCPFA artists including
the Good Brothers. Dan performed with a full band,
playing songs from his CD "Love And
Bridges" and new songs.
Dan
performed a special show at the NSAI Open Mic Night
on Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Embers Grill in
Mississauga. Dan was the feature writer and
performed 7 of his songs and was accompanied by NSAI
songwriter, Paul Kacor. A packed house enjoyed Dan's
music and 15 other talented songwriters who came out
to perform from as far away as Owen Sound, Guelph,
and Brantford.
The
OCPFA BBQ and Showcase was a great day
of food and fun for everyone. Dan
performed along with about 30 other
performers to help support and raise
awareness of the Ontario Country
Performer & Fan Association. Dan
performed Country To The Bone, I Can't
Handle Alone, and We Just Drove.
TIN
PAN NORTH 2002 was a tremendous
success on May 21, 2002 where 14 NSAI
songwriters performed their songs for
an enthusiastic audience. Dan
performed a set with Robert Maciag,
Keith Thompson and Len Watkins where
each performer played and sang on each
others songs. It sounded fantastic.
All the performers are looking forward
to doing this again when possible.

Dan
was part of the OCPFA Showcase &
Awards weekend held from April 18-21,
2002. Special thanks goes out to Jerry
Carroll and all the OCPFA board for a
tremendous weekend and a fantastic
award show. If you were not there, you
missed some amazing entertainment and
it was a great chance to meet the
who's who in Canadian country music.
Dan
rocked the Wild Horse Saloon in
Toronto on April 18 with a rousing set
of his original songs. The band
included Terry Millar, Jim Bennett,
Darrell Goodman, Ian Rome, Robert
Maciag and Gayle Ackroyd. It was a
tremendous night of music with about 9
other artists performing.
Dan
also performed in an acoustic concert
at Nashville North on April 20 with
Colin Amey, Diane Chase, Jason Barry,
Wendell Ferguson and Gil Grand. What
great company to share the stage with.
Dan
performed 2 songs at the legendary
Bluebird Cafe in Nashville on
April 1. This was Dan's debut
performance where so many of the great
songwriter/artists have sat on the
stage before him. He also performed a
set at the Hall Of Fame Lounge on
April 3, 2002. Both performances
received good responses from the
audiences.
The
first ever writers night at Embers on
March 16, 2002
was a tremendous success. Dan hosted
the event which featured 11 performing
songwriters and a good listening
audience. Stay tuned for future open
mic nights.
Opry
North's Country Music Showcase was a
tremendous success for Dan and the 3
other artists that performed on
Feb 23, 2002. Dan started the show
with a rousing rendition of "Take
It Easy" by the Eagles, followed
it with "My Kind Of Girl" by
Collin Raye, then finished with an
energetic version of his own songs
including "Angels Don't Dance
Like That", "Country To The
Bone", and "Fallen".
Dan was backed on the first 3 songs by
the Bare Back Riders who did a
fabulous job. Special thanks goes out
to Kim Jamieson and Wayne Tozzi for
organizing this great event.
